| How Many Sponsors Does A Student Need? At this time, the R.E.W.A.R.D.S. Program is self-funding, which means you earn your grant by finding sponsors. In the future we intend to subsidize sponsorships with additional grants, donations and other revenue. You can get as many or few sponsors as you like. You set your own goals. The sponsorship amount determines your grant amount. There is no upper or lower limit to the amount of sponsorships you can obtain. An individual or corporation could sponsor the full amount of the grant, or you could get more sponsors who donate a lesser amount. How Much Should Each Sponsor Donate? The monthly sponsorship amount for a $5000 grant is based on generating about $5900 over the time of your participation from program enrollment until graduation. Example: A grade 6 student who wants to earn a $5000 grant will need 4 sponsors who donate $25 per month each. At $100 per month that is the equivalent of 5 years of donations; at $200 per month only 30 months of donations are required to reach the goal of a $5000 grant. 83% of the total donation amount is allocated to the grant fund, 17% is reserved to cover administrative and operating costs for the program. Sponsors get a tax credit of up to %50.
The following table shows more options for the total amount of donations and the grant amount earned.
